North Kent Mind are running a free, friendly and welcoming group session for young people aged 11-18. The session will explore self-esteem and managing comparisons, whilst learning how to build positive coping mechanisms.
North Kent Mind would like to thank Ian Leicester for his incredibly generous donation of £1,000 on behalf of his Scouts’ group.
The Scouts have been travelling around Africa and helping various causes worldwide, but also wanted to help a charity closer to home and we are thrilled that they nominated us.
They have a particular passion for helping youth and requested that we use their donation for our Children and Young People’s service.
Matt Joblin, a former student of St George’s Church of England School Gravesend, ran a campaign this month to raise money for North Kent Mind, by collecting donations in exchange for original 1976 bricks from his old school.
The campaign was a huge success, and they were able to able to raise an amazing £1055 for North Kent Mind.
All donators collected their bricks this weekend and were thrilled with the experience.
We are hugely grateful for the effort gone into by everyone involved and a big thank you to Matt, St George’s Church of England School and all donators for their support.

Kimberley was delighted to attend the opening of Dartford’s brand new B&M store on Saturday, after they very kindly chose us as their nominated charity.
Shoppers were queuing outside at 8am, eager to see what the megastore had to offer and they were not disappointed! From homeware to pet supplies, kids toys and its very own garden centre, B&M is your one stop shop for everything you could possibly need this Christmas.
Congratulations to the staff for all of their hard work in the lead up to the much anticipated opening.
We would also like to thank B&M for their very generous £250 charity donation to North Kent Mind.
Today we had great fun running sessions for children to help their emotional intelligence.
Using creative discussions, first they created a ‘moving faces’ octopus to identify emotions, what they feel like and what might bring these on.
They then moved on to create their angry/calm octopus; this helps children become more aware of triggers for angry/sad feelings and the strategies they can use to calm down.
Well done to all of those that attended! North Kent Mind are running sessions for children and young people each school holiday for FREE, keep an eye out for our next ones and come along.
Congratulations to Adam Palmer and Ashley Stone for their double win at the Kent Mental Health and Wellbeing Awards.
As well as winning fundraisers of the year for Medway, they also picked up the champion award at the end of the show.
Adam and Ashley have worked tirelessly on their 12 months of fundraising challenge and have raised a hugely impressive amount of £8200.
Taking part in various activities such as a charity football match, sponsored walk, monthly scratchcard and speed quizzes, Ashley was keen to support North Kent Mind as a charity close to his heart after experiencing mental health issues in his own life. Thank you so much to Adam and Ashley for their amazing fundraising efforts, commitment and dedication.
